I think I will always love the “Honeydew” dahlia. So unpredictable on what bloom color is coming. I always thought of it blooming as a creamy apricot yellow until it started giving me the really pretty rose induced blooms or rose mixed with peach. The one thing I have noticed this year is that it is probably in the genetics of the parent tuber. The rose colored blooms have all come from the same plants and the mixed ones are all from the same plants. And it’s tubers are some of the hardest to lift out of the ground. It doesn’t produce many and they are crazy long so you need to take more time lifting to try and prevent breaking. It will also give you some wonderful curls if you love that look on your dahlias also. Tubers being sold this year are from the peachy yellow plants.
